Bio/About Me

I am a 34-year-old, current elementary music teacher who uses impressions to create inspired lessons, reads ghost stories at the request of students every school day, and has a background in opera, musical theatre, and theatre! I was involved in musical theatre and choir all through high school and went to the IU Jacobs School of Music to pursue degrees in Voice and Music Education, where I was in several operas of various languages and backgrounds. Now after teaching eleven years and putting my skills to good use entertaining students and adults at our elementary school daily, it's time for me to put these skills towards bringing stories to life and giving each character their say. My wife, daughter, students, colleagues, friends, random strangers at the store, and professional producers have encouraged me to pursue this dream, and it's time! Your story will be given a voice to help it come to life and inspire the imaginations of listeners globally!

I was born in Michigan, raised in Ohio, and currently live in Newburgh, Indiana. I love to tell a good story and started learning how to tell them from master storytellers around the campfire as a kid. Students, teacher colleagues, friends, and family alike will tell you I know how to bring a story to life and live through each of the characters as I read. I have a wide range of vocal impressions I use when presenting to students, and even put them to use on local television when I presented at-home lessons to students during the pandemic. I not only love to tell a good story but also enjoy: singing, writing poetry, Star Wars, fantasy, sci-fi, the outdoors, working out, and traveling. I am being advised by Kevin Thomsen, director of Star Wars audio productions, and was also mentored by Penguin Random House Audio as part of their Narrator Mentorship Program. This led to a meeting with Nick Martorelli, audiobook producer, where I was advised on starting my narration career. Don Baarns, audio engineer extraordinaire from Los Angeles, helped me set up a professional at home studio, where I have now produced 14 audiobooks for ACX, with many more on the way, and star in the new podcast series: "Wordini, the Word Genie", by Little Ears Media!
